FAQ

How do I know if I might benefit from therapy?

You may not be in crisis, but something inside is calling for change — a desire to heal, to grow, to feel more like yourself again. Whether you're carrying the impact of past trauma, wrestling with anxiety or depression, or navigating challenges in your relationships, therapy can help you come back to your center.

Therapy is a space for emotional healing — where you’re gently supported in exploring what hurts, discovering what’s possible, and growing into the person you were created to be.

If you're asking this question, it may be the Spirit’s way of inviting you into deeper restoration. Healing is possible, and you don’t have to walk through it alone.

What Therapy With Me Feels Like

Therapy with me is a deeply relational and compassionate space — grounded, real, and guided by the belief that healing happens in connection.

I meet you where you are, without judgment or pressure. Whether you're carrying the weight of trauma, grief, anxiety, or just trying to find your way back to yourself, our work together is a space to slow down, listen inwardly, and gently begin to heal.

You don’t have to perform, fix, or explain everything. You’ll be met with curiosity, presence, and care — at a pace that feels safe for you. Sometimes we’ll laugh, sometimes we’ll sit with pain. Often, we’ll find moments of clarity, relief, and new strength rising in places you thought were too broken.

My clinical training is grounded in trauma-informed and attachment-based work, but it’s my heart — shaped by 35+ years of practice and a steady walk with God — that holds the center.

If you're ready to explore what’s possible when you feel seen, heard, and not alone, I welcome you to reach out.

What if I need medication?

Sometimes medication can be useful as an adjunct to therapy. After gaining an understanding of your present emotional/mental state and issues, if it is my impression that meds could help then we can discuss this and you can decide what you would like to do. If you decide that you believe meds could help, then I can refer you to a psychiatrist with whom I will work collaboratively to help you.

How long are therapy sessions?

Each session is 45 minutes and most clients are seen weekly, and some are seen biweekly. Please understand that therapy is not a quick fix and requires commitment, and during this process, you will develop patience. It is a time for you to know and feel that you are not alone as you process your emotions and the sensations in your body, and become curious about what is going on “inside of you”. Couples sessions and parent-child sessions are an hour.

My location is extremely convenient:

  • One block from #2, 3, and 1 train Chambers St. Station

  • Two blocks from A, C, E trains Chambers St. Station

  • Three blocks from RR, N trains City Hall Station

  • Three and a half blocks from Lexington line

Do you accept insurance?

I do not take insurance in any form. I have found that it interferes with the therapeutic process, violates privacy, and has an extremely low reimbursement rate. You can deduct your therapy at the end of the year from your medical expenses on your taxes.
