My Background

MILLER-therapist-new-york-dog-min.jpg

.For more than 35 years, I have had the honor and privilege of walking alongside those who are struggling — feeling depressed, anxious, angry, numb, traumatized, or just wanting to come back to life. I’ve witnessed miraculous transformation as my clients courageously engage in the healing process.

I hold a Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology from The New School in NYC, with extensive postgraduate training, and I offer therapy from my home office in Tribeca, a peaceful and safe space where clients can begin to truly feel, trust, and heal.

I work with individuals, couples, and parent-child relationships, helping people address:

  • Trauma and PTSD

  • Anxiety and Depression

  • Grief and Emotional Numbness

  • Relationship Issues and Attachment Wounds

  • Codependency and Self-worth Struggles

  • Spiritual Confusion or Longing

Specialized Experience

I’ve had the opportunity to serve as a consultant for Mothers Without Custody, and to appear on TV and radio, shedding light on the trauma experienced by children separated from their mothers. I've led workshops for women on codependency, healing inner wounds, and breaking unhealthy relationship patterns that often stem from trauma.

For the past 15 years, I’ve also served in the Prison Ministry at Rikers Island, ministering to women with long-standing histories of childhood attachment trauma, sexual abuse, addiction, and unsafe relationships. So many of these stories begin with early betrayal, abandonment, and deep emotional pain — and I’ve had the privilege of offering a space where healing could begin.

Trauma Work in Times of Crisis: 9/11 and the Pandemic

When the towers fell on 9/11, I was two blocks away. Living and working in Tribeca meant that I was on the front lines as a therapist. Many clients came to me in shock, overwhelmed by the trauma of that day — but also deeply affected by earlier wounds that the crisis had resurfaced.

9/11 became a reinjury for many survivors of childhood sexual abuse, neglect, or emotional abandonment. The trauma of that day brought up long-buried memories and emotional pain that could no longer be avoided.

The COVID-19 pandemic was another wave of trauma — a time when the usual distractions fell away, and many found themselves face-to-face with unhealed pain. Clients who had never addressed their trauma before began to reach out. For many, it became clear that the emotional survival strategies they had always relied on were no longer working.

During those early months, I briefly offered Zoom sessions — but quickly returned to in-person therapy, where I continue to see clients today. I deeply believe that healing in person offers something profoundly different and more reparative. I've seen that truth lived out again and again in my practice.

The Power of the Present Moment

Much of the healing process is about becoming safe in your own body, often for the very first time. Trauma doesn’t just live in our memories — it lives in our nervous system, in the body, and in the parts of us that had to shut down just to survive.

In therapy, we don’t just talk about the past — we work with how it shows up in your present. Healing can only take place in the present moment, within a relationship that feels real, safe, and emotionally attuned.

I offer a calm, quiet, and emotionally grounded space, with complete privacy — and a warm welcome from Mercy Shalom, my 11-year-old Shih Tzu who provides an added sense of comfort and calm for many of my clients.

A Spiritually Grounded Practice

Pain is part of every life, but so is the invitation to grow, stretch, and be restored. My relationship with Yeshua over the past 28 years is the foundation of my life and my work. I don’t offer religion — I offer the presence of One who heals. I pray daily for His guidance, wisdom, and anointing, and I believe that whether or not you share my spiritual beliefs, His love and presence will be felt in our work together.

Many of my clients carry shame, self-hatred, or a deep feeling of being unworthy or unlovable. Whether you are a believer, spiritually searching, or have no spiritual background, I will walk with you as you begin to uncover the lies you’ve believed about yourself — and discover your true, God-given worth.

“You shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.”

Begin Your Healing Journey

If you feel a quiet longing or a loud ache, if you’ve reached the point where surviving isn’t enough — you are not alone. I would be honored to walk with you.
